OpenAI brings ServiceNow workflows into ChatGPT and Codex
A new integration lets teams inspect incidents and update records inside ChatGPT, while Codex and OpenAI security tools are coming to ServiceNow products.

OpenAI and ServiceNow are expanding their partnership to connect enterprise workflows directly with ChatGPT and Codex. A new ServiceNow integration lets users find similar IT incidents, assess the risk of a change and update a ServiceNow record without leaving a ChatGPT conversation.
Customers connect their own ServiceNow instance and choose which capabilities to expose. ServiceNow says its Action Fabric will keep existing business rules and permissions in place, so ChatGPT users can only take actions allowed by their organization. The company is also previewing interactive incident-response views inside ChatGPT, including linked alerts, recent changes and affected services.
The partnership extends beyond the plugin. OpenAI and ServiceNow plan to bring Codex into the AI Workflow Factory for application development, use OpenAI models in ServiceNow’s Build Agent and Autonomous Engineer, and build a joint cybersecurity system for vulnerability investigation and remediation. ServiceNow also plans to give ChatGPT Work and Codex to all employees.
The practical shift is that ChatGPT is moving from answering questions about enterprise data to acting inside operational systems. The current plugin is available now, while several deeper coding, voice and security capabilities are still planned rather than generally available.
