OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their partnership to bring Oracle applications, company data and approved business workflows into ChatGPT. The planned Oracle AI Workspace is intended to let employees describe a task, find information across Oracle systems and complete permitted actions from one interface.

OpenAI gives a finance example: a new employee could investigate costs, understand purchasing decisions and see what remains before month-end close by combining information from finance, procurement and planning applications. Access would continue to follow each organization’s permissions and approvals, with unified sign-in and simpler administration among the goals.

Oracle also announced three products built with OpenAI technology. AI Security Mesh will use OpenAI cyber models to help customers find and fix vulnerabilities in authorized environments. An AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle applications and recurring Oracle Cloud Infrastructure credits. Oracle App Composer will help teams build and deploy apps with Codex and connect them to approved company data and workflows.

The companies already have a substantial internal relationship: Oracle reported 130,000 active ChatGPT users and more than 95,000 active Codex users. OpenAI says Oracle’s recruiting team cut some market-research preparation from two to four days to 15–20 minutes. U.S. Oracle customers can also buy the OpenAI API, Codex and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace.
