The generative-media infrastructure company announced two rounds led by Sequoia and Bessemer; the valuation comes from Bloomberg reporting.

fal has raised a combined $1.65 billion across its Series E and Series F rounds. Sequoia Capital led the earlier round, while Bessemer Venture Partners led the latest financing with continued participation from Nvidia. fal says the capital will expand compute capacity, its team, research and the platform behind its generative-media services.

The company did not disclose the split between the rounds or its valuation. TechCrunch, citing Bloomberg, reports that the Series F totaled $1.3 billion at a $16 billion valuation, while the Series E brought in $350 million at an $8 billion valuation. That would mean fal doubled its valuation in roughly six months. TechCrunch also reports participation from Sound Ventures and T. Rowe Price.

fal provides infrastructure for running image, video and audio models. Bessemer says Adobe, Canva, Shopify, World Labs and Amazon have shifted production volume to the platform, which gives developers access to thousands of models through one API and lets model labs use fal for distribution and serverless inference.

The size of the financing underlines how quickly generative-media workloads are becoming a major infrastructure market. It also gives fal more room to buy scarce compute and compete with other inference providers, though the economics of serving compute-heavy media models remain demanding. Bloomberg, via TechCrunch, says fal has passed $800 million in annualized revenue.
