HCLTech has signed a Global Premier Partnership with Anthropic to push Claude deeper into enterprise AI projects. The company says it will create a dedicated Anthropic business unit and center of excellence focused on governed agentic AI deployments.

The work covers both services and software. HCLTech says its teams will build industry offerings powered by Claude, Cowork and Claude Code, while HCLSoftware will embed Claude capabilities into selected enterprise products across cybersecurity, automation, business-process software and application development. Named products include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, and the company also plans to bring Claude into its AI Force software-engineering platform.

Reuters describes HCLTech as India’s third-largest IT services firm, which makes the partnership more than a narrow reseller announcement. For Anthropic, the deal expands Claude’s route into regulated and complex enterprise environments through a major integrator that already manages systems for banks, hospitals, telecom companies and manufacturers.

The practical signal is that frontier-model vendors are building distribution through consulting and managed-service channels, not only APIs and chat products. For buyers, the relevant question is whether these agentic AI projects come with guardrails, exception handling and human oversight strong enough for production systems.
