Google lets Gemini iSpark manage Photos libraries

Google is adding Google Photos controls to Gemini Spark, expanding the agent from chat-style assistance into personal media management. TechCrunch reports that Spark can edit and curate albums, create shared collections, turn photos into calendar events and handle other Photos tasks for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. 9to5Google says the integration lets the agent handle complex, multi-stage workflows inside the library.

The point is not another image-editing shortcut. Photos is one of Google’s most personal consumer databases, and giving an AI agent permission to organize it shows where the company wants Gemini to sit: across apps, with enough context and authority to complete chores that normally require several taps and decisions.

The useful question now is how much control users get over scope. If Spark can reliably act on narrow prompts without surprising edits or accidental sharing, Photos becomes a strong example of consumer agents moving from suggestions to execution. If permissions feel too broad, the feature will become another test of trust in app-level AI automation.
