Cursor now builds and deploys live apps from a prompt

Cloud agents can add Postgres, authentication, security checks and hosting, then return a shareable link.

Cursor has added a live-app workflow that turns a prompt into a hosted web application. A user starts a cloud agent, describes the tool, and Cursor can scaffold the app, provision Postgres when needed, add authentication through Cursor SSO and deploy it to a chosen domain.

The release closes a gap between generating code and putting software in front of users. Cursor says teams are already using the workflow for internal operations tools, dashboards, onboarding, presentations and developer portals. Apps can start from Cursor Origin or GitHub repositories, while GitLab support is planned.

Publishing includes deterministic and agent-based security checks for problems such as secrets embedded in files or exposed credentials. Nothing goes live until the checks pass and the user explicitly publishes it. Team administrators can inspect apps and secrets, add review rules and unpublish deployments. Team sharing stays behind Cursor sign-in; individual plans can also make apps public.

The feature is available on paid plans with cloud agents enabled. Cursor has not announced separate hosting prices, so teams should still examine operational limits and data controls before treating it as a general production platform.
