Abbott and Google connect glucose data to AI health coaching
The multi-year partnership will bring Abbott Lingo glucose insights into Google Health and use them for personalized coaching and metabolic-health research.
Abbott and Google Health have announced a multi-year partnership that links Abbott’s Lingo continuous glucose monitor with Google’s AI-powered health products. The companies say Lingo users will be able to view glucose trends inside the Google Health app alongside other health and wellness metrics.
The goal is to make glucose data useful beyond diabetes care. Google Health Coach will use the signals to provide personalized recommendations around nutrition, activity, sleep and recovery. Abbott and Google also plan a large real-world metabolic-health study combining continuous glucose, wearable, laboratory and survey data to improve future AI guidance.
The partnership matters because consumer health AI is moving from generic advice toward live biometric context. Glucose, sleep, activity and stress data can make coaching more specific, but it also raises the bar for accuracy, privacy and medical caution. Abbott notes that Lingo is for adults who are not using insulin and is not intended to diagnose disease; Google says Health Coach features are not intended for medical purposes and users should check responses for accuracy.
