Google says Gemini app passed 1B monthly users

The standalone Gemini app has become Google’s 14th billion-user product, separate from AI Mode and other Gemini-powered surfaces.

Google says the Gemini app has passed 1B monthly active users, according to TechCrunch. CEO Sundar Pichai described Gemini as one of Google’s fastest-growing products and the company’s 14th product to reach the billion-user mark.

The distinction matters: TechCrunch says this figure refers to the standalone Gemini app, not all Gemini-powered features across Search, Workspace, Android or other Google products. Google’s AI Mode in Search has also reached large-scale usage, but it is counted separately.

Google also said more than 100M active users are on iOS, 63% of Gemini users talk to the assistant by voice and Gemini generates more than 150M images daily. The milestone puts Gemini much closer to ChatGPT-scale consumer distribution and gives Google a stronger base for turning AI features into default behavior across phones, search and productivity apps.
