Google brings Pics image editing into Workspace

Google is rolling out Google Pics, an AI image creation and editing tool for Workspace, to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and most Workspace business customers.

The product is built on Google’s Nano Banana image generation and editing model. Google says Pics can generate images, refine existing visuals and make precise edits for use cases such as posters, social posts, announcements, product mockups and digital illustrations.

The important shift is placement. Pics will work as a standalone product at pics.new, but Google is also putting it directly into Workspace. The first integrations are Docs and Slides, with Drive support planned next, so users can create or adjust visuals without moving files between separate design tools.

For Workspace customers, this turns image generation from a side tab into part of the everyday document and presentation workflow. It also gives Google another way to bundle generative media into paid AI subscriptions and business seats, where distribution matters as much as model quality.
