Firmus raises $2B to expand AI factories in Asia-Pacific

Nvidia, Coatue, Blackstone vehicles and Jane Street are backing the Australian AI infrastructure builder at a valuation above $10.5B.

Australian AI infrastructure company Firmus says it has secured commitments for a $2 billion strategic equity round, lifting its post-money valuation above $10.5 billion. The round includes follow-on participation from Nvidia and Coatue, plus new investment from Blackstone-managed vehicles and Jane Street.

The capital is meant to accelerate Project Southgate, Firmus’ AI factory rollout in Australia, and support early expansion into Asia-Pacific markets including Indonesia. Firmus builds dense AI compute facilities around Nvidia’s DSX AI Factory Reference Architecture and its own HyperCube platform.

The important signal is that AI infrastructure funding is moving beyond conventional cloud data centers. Investors are backing companies that can combine GPU supply, power-aware facilities, cooling, manufacturing and regional deployment capacity.

For model developers and enterprise AI buyers, this is another sign that compute access is becoming a regional infrastructure race. More capital is flowing into the physical layer that decides where large AI workloads can be trained, hosted and served.
