Firebird launches Armenia AI factory with Nvidia and Dell infrastructure

Firebird, an AI cloud company, has opened what Nvidia describes as the CIS region’s largest AI factory in Armenia. The site is built on Nvidia accelerated computing, Nvidia DSX architecture and Dell Technologies AI infrastructure.

The plan is much bigger than one launch site. Firebird says it aims to deploy more than 70,000 Nvidia Rubin and Blackwell GPUs and 300 megawatts of AI infrastructure capacity in Armenia over the rollout. The company is also pursuing an approximately 2-gigawatt infrastructure roadmap across Armenia, Kazakhstan and other markets.

Nvidia says it intends to invest in Firebird, following an earlier investment by CoreWeave. Perplexity is named as an early customer working with Firebird for high-performance AI infrastructure for its agent platform and answer engine.

The takeaway is that AI capacity is becoming geopolitical and regional infrastructure, not just a cloud product sold from a few established hubs. Countries and companies are racing to secure local compute, power and cooling so models can be trained, tuned and served closer to their own languages, industries and institutions.
