Anthropic turns Claude into a finance agent toolkit

The company added finance agent templates, Microsoft 365 add-ins and connectors to market data, research and compliance systems.

Anthropic is turning Claude into a more vertical finance product, not just a general chatbot with a financial-services prompt pack.

The company released ten ready-to-run agent templates for work such as pitchbooks, meeting prep, earnings review, financial-model building, KYC screening and month-end close. Anthropic says the templates ship as plugins for Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents, so firms can adapt them to internal controls and approval flows.

Claude is also moving deeper into the daily tools of finance teams. Anthropic says Claude can work across Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook through Microsoft 365 add-ins, carrying context between documents, spreadsheets, decks and email.

The other important piece is data access. Anthropic added connectors for providers including Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C Intralinks, Third Bridge and Verisk. Moody’s is also launching an MCP app inside Claude with credit ratings and company data.

The story matters because AI agents in finance are constrained less by model fluency than by governed access to private data, spreadsheets, approvals and audit trails. Anthropic is packaging those pieces together for a regulated, high-value vertical where firms are willing to pay for productivity but need control.
